I had the pleasure of seeing DISTRACTIONS at the Hollywood Black Film Festival. It was one of the best shorts I have ever seen. Clearly the Director is one of the rare filmmakers who understands that film is a visual medium. You could view the film with no sound and miss absolutely nothing. She brings you on an exciting journey thru beautifully thought out shots that touched a myriad of emotions. This truly is a Director who has a promising future. |

Distractions is a film that clearly points out how society has lost its way by being distracted. The film's strong impact derives from the viewer's identification with the protagonist. "Do I allow myself to be distracted from what really matters in life?" The answer is clearly yes. Kevin Craig West's performance is as sharp as the script he penned. The production values are top notch and the score adds to the tension of the piece. Distractions is a film that holds a mirror to all of us. |
